Our Culinary Story

Servis Events is made up of identical twin brothers Nicolas and Stephen Servis. We have been cooking in the Bucks County area for over ten years now, and after being forced to leave their restaurant jobs due to COVID, we came up with this private dining service.

Our education started at Middle Bucks Institute of Technology where we were both enrolled in the Culinary Arts program. After completion, we went on to get our associates degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Bucks County Community College. The rest was taught in the kitchen.

We both truly became deeply interested in the farm-to-table world when holding chef de partie positions at The Mainland Inn. Yes, we have worked in a lot of the same restaurants! We did full animal butchery, gardening, growing under lights, tapping maple trees for syrup, raising bees and spinning the honey, making our own hot sauces & vinegars, foraging for garnish and such. We were in our own little heaven of a restaurant. When volunteering at Quarry Hill Farm, Stephen was told about the WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) program. A pitch that said you could travel for free, as long as you offer your work to the farmers in exchange for housing and meals. Well, five years later, the time was just right and we spent 2 months on Flying Pond Farm in Vienna, Maine in the summer of 2020. Thats where this whole idea became just a distant reality.

After countless conversations with the farmer and his family (Harold and the Grams), we had somewhat of a plan of attack for when we returned home to start cooking these private events. After a little bit of revising, we had our vision!

Our Vision

We started this service with the idea to bring family and friends together through eating good food. We grew up eating as a family, and while in Maine, we got to experience how the dinner table really brought the family, and the staying WWOOFers all together. We wanted to come home and replicate that the best we could. Connection and relationship building is just as important to us, as the high quality of food and service we provide.

Along with connecting people to each other, we want to connect them to what is being grown on the land around them. Another insight we got to see with different eyes while living in Maine. There was no “Farm to table niche” up there. It was just the way of life. If eating from the land around you, knowing all of the passionate people who are producing the products, and picking it up yourself doesn’t give a sense of community, then we don’t know what will.

Aside from serving delicious and thoughtful food, we try to educate and create awareness of where it is all coming from and the positive effects that supporting a local economy has for all of us.

What is this service?

Located in Doylestown at the heart of Bucks County, Servis Events is an in home, intimate, private dining experience. We produce a monthly, seasonal menu each month based on the ingredients we source and pick up from local farmers and suppliers. We do all of the sourcing, shopping, prepping, cooking, serving, and cleaning so that all you have to do is sit down with your guests and enjoy your time.

Upon arrival, we provide all necessary equipment for your dinner party: plate ware, silverware, cook ware, napkins, printed menus, flower bouquet, water & glasses, all food products. WE TAKE HOME ALL DIRTY DISHES, COOKWARE, AND UTENSILS, leaving you with a clean kitchen. (We can provide alcohol recommendations, but will not provide any of the physical alcohol). In addition we serve, explain, and educate about the foods we are cooking and why we chose those ingredients. We like to educate about their seasonality, where they are coming from, and any health benefits we are aware of.

We’re passionate about our local region, and we stay involved in a number of Doylestown Events. Whether it’s offering pasta classes, or cooking meals for clients and their families, we bring out the best that Bucks County food has to offer.
