OurBus Expands Suburban Philadelphia Bus Service to Bucks County with Express Trips to NYC

OurBus, a tech company that specializes in intercity and crowdsourced bus routes, is expanding its suburban Philadelphia bus service - which currently serves Fort Washington, King of Prussia, Malvern and West Chester, Pennsylvania -  with an additional stop at the Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem, effective immediately, in partnership with bus operator Stouts.

Neshaminy Mall riders will be offered $10 one-way promotional fares to celebrate the expansion of the Main Line bus service.  Customers in need of daily parking can park in the commuter lot for free. For overnight parking, customers should call the Neshaminy Mall directly and provide information about their length of stay.

“We’re filling a much needed gap in the Philadelphia suburbs,  targeting travelers in Bucks County, Montgomery and Chester Counties, who have few travel options to New York City,” said Erica Prince, senior operations and planning coordinator at OurBus. “By using OurBus, suburban residents don't need to travel to Philly to take a bus to NYC, which makes their trip easier and less stressful. Through our crowdsourcing platform, we’ve had many requests for service in Bucks County, a thriving location, and an important one for OurBus.”

OurBus launched suburban Philadelphia bus service  in December 2017, and since then, has offered customers express bus service into New York City.  OurBus is the first regional bus service to launch a route in this area, catering to the needs of students, business and leisure travelers who are looking for a reliable, and cost-effective way to travel to New York City.

By using crowdsourcing to bring efficient bus service to leisure travelers, students, and families on a budget,  OurBus - founded in 2016 - is bucking the traditional bus service model, which utilizes a point to point network concept, recognizing that travelers need reliable and efficient transportation that’s close to their home, with less transfers, and less time in the car.  By creating a crowdsourced platform to gauge the needs of customers,  OurBus brings convenient options to travelers who often live in areas with limited transportation, often outside of main cities.

Riders can be as productive or as relaxed as they want to be, with all buses equipped with free wi-fi, individual charging ports,  bottled water and bathrooms.

OurBus has bolstered its East Coast presence this year, with the launch of several new bus services, including Florida, with stops along the Gulf Coast to Miami, Syracuse,  Philadelphia to Washington, DC, and Newark, New Jersey to Washington, DC.

By downloading the free OurBus app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, OurBus customers have the ability to:

  • Eliminate the guesswork – track OurBus status via mobile phone
  • Eliminate the hassle – no need to wait on long, slow lines at the station to purchase tickets
  • Eliminate the stress –  knowledgeable bus drivers and OurBus transportation planners share travel updates with customers in real-time and  via social media

The company is now offering OurBus Select Membership program, targeting frequent travelers,  students and families on a budget. Members will receive 50% off of 10 tickets, for $49.99. For an updated list of bus schedules and to enroll in the OurBus Select Membership program, visit OurBus.com or download the OurBus app.
