The juror for this exhibit, Lisa Tremper Hanover, selected just 89 pieces of art from the more than 400 submitted from AOY members and non-member artists alike. Ms. Hanover is the current Director & CEO of the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown. A graduate of the University of Richmond, Richmond, Virginia, Hanover received her MA in Art History from University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California. Ms. Hanover comes to the museum with a 25 year history as director of the Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College. About the juried show Ms. Hanover stated that  it was very hard to eliminate pieces because each work is the product of a creative spirit and the desire to compose something tangible from inspiration. I hope that the artists who were accepted will be delighted and those that I had to reject will take solace in the fact that I had to make choices and I would have taken one work by every artist who submitted if I could. About AOY: Established in 2004 as an arts organization in the Yardley area, Artists of Yardley has evolved into a community of more than 200 member artists representing a full spectrum of artistic disciplines.
